October Half-Term Workshop 2020
October half-term Drama workshop
When: Tuesday 27th October
Time: 10am-3pm
Where: South Darley Village Hall near Matlock
Who: For 7-16 year olds
Led by: Andrea Turner, artistic director of The Tinderbox
What: A day of working in a socially distanced way, but with all the drama and fun! We will kick off the day with drama games to warm us up and to break the ice.
As the day goes on, the young people will make connections with the group and build confidence.
We will explore improvisations and how to express character within them. It can be pretty difficult to improvise and expect the words to keep flowing! So we will look at how to accept ideas and let them roll.
In the afternoon, the young actors, will work in small groups to devise their own piece of theatre. This is a chance to look at a variety of story-telling techniques and select ones that make the drama an effective piece. They will share their work the the rest of the group at the end of the day.
South Darley Village Hall is a Covid Secure venue. A risk assessment will be emailed to the participants prior to the day so that everyone is aware of procedures.
What you will need: Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear. Bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks.
Cost: £22 per participant
