On Friday 20th May 2022, 7pm at the Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale, both adult choirs and Youth Choir will be joining together to bring you #guesswhosback.

It has been 3 years since our last Tinderbox Choir concert. As Covid hit in 2020, we were just about to perform for the second time, but alas, like every other choir, we couldn’t meet in person, performances were cancelled. For a year, the Tinderbox Choirs met weekly on Zoom. We couldn’t hear each other sing (darned mute button!), but it was a way of keeping us all connected doing something we love.

With such a big gap between concerts, boy, are we ready to perform!

We started rehearsals for this concert this January- a new set of songs, and with the introduction of our Youth Choir (formed on zoom in Lockdown) we aim to bring you an evening of fabulous hits from the world of pop and stage musicals. Your feet will be tapping to such classics as Circle of Life, Count on Me, Here Comes the Sun, Wonderwall, Edelweiss and the list goes on!

You will hear the Daytime adult choir sing on their own, the Nighttime adult choir sing and we join forces for some numbers too. A few choir members will be singing some beautiful duets and our crazily talented accompanist, Jenni Demicheli, will be playing a piano solo. You may even need a tissue or two when the Youth Choir bring their talent to the stage. Or you could just say something was in your eye!

The Tinderbox choirs do not audition. If you love to sing and learn songs then you are very welcome. We work and play hard! I’m lucky to lead such a friendly and supportive group of people, adults and children alike.
